Ashford sits on the banks of the Great River Stour and its name originates from being a Ford (crossing point) on the river near a clump of Ash trees. After King Henry III granted the town a charter it became an important market town, particularly with regards to the trade in livestock. Due to its proximity to Central London (just over 60 miles) the area has expanded rapidly over the past 50 years, particularly since the 1967 Buchanan Report earmarked it as a major town for growth. By the time of the 2011 Census the greater Borough of Ashford had shown the largest population growth in the whole of Kent. By virtue of being a mainline station for the Eurostar trains this small town is now directly linked to Paris, Brussels and Lilles! The Ashford Create Music Festival is one of the South East's biggest free music festival and is held annually, the last week long event being hosted 14- 23rd July 2019.

If you don't already have one in mind, then we are pleased to make some suggestions that are suitable for both indoor and outdoor events: the Ashford International Hotel, Eastwell Manor, the Falcon Conference Centre, Odo's Barn, Singleton Environment Centre and Charts Hill Golf Club are all worth considering. We are also more than happy to provide events at other locations within the vicinity including Canterbury, Folkstone, Faversham, Cranbrook, Hythe, Tenterton and Sittingbourne.
