Barnsley was formerly one of our northern industrial powerhouse towns situated on top of the Yorkshire coalfields with a thriving textile, coal mining and glass making industries. As recently as 1960 there were over 70 coal mines within a 15 mile radius of the City Centre. Today, all of the mines have closed and the town has had to look to other industries to fill the employment gap. Many of the former coalmining sites have been regenerated into modern Industrial Parks attracting companies such as ASOS, Premier Foods and Symphony Kitchens. Barnsley is world famous for its Brass Bands and hosts a free music festival each year (next expected to be held in June 2019).
Our events team is fully mobile and can facilitate your team building event at any venue in the locality. If you don't already have one in mind, then we are pleased to make some suggestions that are suitable for both indoor and outdoor events: the Digital Media Centre, the Best Western Barnsley House Hotel, Ramada Encore, the Fairway & Bluebell Banqueting Suite and Elescar Heritage Centre are all worth considering. We are also more than happy to provide events at other locations within the local vicinity including Wakefield, Huddersfield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Worksop, Pontefract, Sheffield and Dewsbury. Manchester is a bit further down the road but still within striking distance.
As well as ideas for team building days we can also provide a great range of other activities in Barnsley including archery and laser clay pigeon shooting. For staff parties we have a fantastic pub games evening package and extras such as BATAK reaction wall can also be bolted on.
