The City of Bath has the unique honour of being a UNESCO World Heritage Centre, with such amazing features as its historic Roman Baths and classical Georgian architecture. It was the Romans who originally founded the spa town back in the 1st Century AD but it was during Georgian times that it became one of Europe's most beautiful cities. Two of its most famous architects who helped define the character of the city were John Wood Senior and Richard "Beau" Nash. Bath has a fabulous selection of independent shops and even its own Race Course. Every year it also hosts a popular multi-arts Festival (this years is being held 11th-27th May 2020).
