Banbury lies on the banks of the River Cherwell just over 20 miles North East of Oxford and evidence suggests that there has been a settlement on this site since as far back at 200BC. This former market home is now home to a number of industries including car components and electrical goods as well as being home to the worlds largest coffee-processing plant operated by Jacobs Douwe Egberts. Motorsport has long been synonymous with Banbury and area has been the base for Formula 1 teams such as Marussia and Simtek, as well as component maker Prodrive and Ascari Cars.Despite being many miles inland Banbury is also famous for Tooley's Boatyard. Every year the town hosts the famous "Banbury Folk Festival" (last held on 6-8th October 2019).
