Nordic Axe Throwing is one of the latest activities that we have added to our growing range of Country Pursuits. Our instructor will usually set up a three target range and we typically use single bladed Norse Tomahawks fitted with wooden handles. If the throwing line is set approximately 4-5 metres from a square or round wooden target the axe generally rotates once in the air before the blade lands, and hopefully "sticks" in the bulls eye with a reassuring thud!
As an added extra we can also include knife throwing as part of your package free of charge. So, if you need any excuse to dress up as a lumberjack, to bring out your inner Viking or just to have some fun splitting timber then get in touch!

Space Requirements: Ideally we need a flat grassed area of approximately 10m x 30m to set up our mobile axe throwing range. The setup includes all equipment, bunting and a shelter gazebo.
Interesting fact: The saying "bury the hatchet" means putting away the Tomahawk to "make peace". The phrase originated in the 17th Century, when following the ending of hostilities with European settlers, the North American Indians would quite literally bury their weapons.
