Laser Clay Shooting- How it Works
Our Laser Clay Shooting package is one of the most popular activities that we offer. The system was developed by a UK company called Lasersport and is a fully electronic version of real clay shooting, even down to having real shotguns (fully deactivated of course) to add to the authenticity. There is a selection off different game formats that can be played and points are registered on a digital scoreboard.
Provided space allows, a typical set up includes a variety of simulated game targets. Our instructor shouts "pull" and a Promatic trap launches plastic clays into the air that are all fitted with a reflective strip. They are identical in shape and size to real ones and we collect them all at the end of the session to be re-used. The clays don't break so there is no mess left behind.
Participants aim at the targets and pull the trigger in just the same way as they would for normal clay shooting. The guns are set up to be "double barreled" meaning everyone gets two chances to score a "hit". When the trigger is pulled, speakers on the scoreboard (that can be turned up or down in terms of volume) emit a banging noise. The gun "fires" an infra red beam towards the target which then bounces back to the scoreboard to register a hit (to the sound of breaking plates!) or a miss.
Our standard set up has five guns lined up side by side but for larger events we can even link up two systems to make a 10 gun layout. Bunting and a shelter gazebo are also included and we take everything away at the end so that we "leave no trace". We are fully self-sufficient in terms of power as the scoreboard and trap both have fully rechargeable internal batteries. For venues with limited grounds or city centre venues we have an indoor version with a variety of themed backdrops.
